If you thought your life was complicated, imagine that of John Smith who is a bigamist taxi-driver and is keeping two families (one in Wimbledon and one in Streatham) happy and blissfully unaware of each other. However his teenage children – Vicki by one wife Mary and Gavin by the other Barbara – have accidentally met in an Internet chat room and are determined to see each other in person, especially as they have so much in common – taxi-driver dad of the same name and age etc! When John discovers that they are about to meet, chaos reigns supreme as he tries to keep them and his two wives apart for fear his dual life secret will be exposed. Will John succeed or will his world come tumbling down around him?

Inspector Pratt's record of crime detection at Bagshot House is not enviable. In his two previous visits, chronicled in 'Murdered to Death' and 'Secondary Cause of Death', the body count mounted disastrously as he looked on, helpless and hopeless! Now he is back and, as usual, chaos reigns supreme. During the course of his latest investigations, Pratt meets the new owner of the house, Nancy Allwright and soon he is embroiled in more mystery, aided and abetted by Miss Maple and Constable Thomkins. Upper-crust Ginny and Italian gigolo, Enzo help with enquiries but danger soon looms with an unexpected arrival and a frightening suggestion by Welsh busybody, Blodwyn Morgan.

158 - Lord Arthur Saville's Crime (2008)

Lord Arthur is to be married, and his future mother-in-law, who rather disapproves of him, gets a famous palmist to read his palm to discover any skeletons in his cupboard.
Warned by the fortune teller that he will commit a murder, Lord Arthur determines to do it before he marries.
This proves to be harder than he had thought and after a number of failed attempts, with the aid of a foreign anarchist and his faithful butler, Baines, a surprising revelation comes to light, which results in a satisfying if not an immediate happy ending.

A theatre company decides to stage a new production of Shakespeare's classic - fronted by TV Soap star Julian Dando, and backed by a cast of second-rate hams. At the last-night party is one Edward Pinfold, a promising young playwright, and husband of the talented but tempestuous actress, Ruby, who had played Ophelia. Tragically, that very night, Ruby - a renowned reveller with a reputation for burning the candle at all three ends - is found dead in bed. An overdose of naughty pills and booze. The theatre world went into a state of mourning that barely lasted into the afternoon. One year later, however, Edward remains deeply affected. Unable to face the emotional torment of living in his own home, he has moved into the attic room of one of his oldest actor friends, Alex. We join the story on the first anniversary of the death of Ruby Pinfold. May she rest in peace.
